A Tour of Symphony Solutions’ Cool Lviv Office

Symphony Solutions is a Dutch software technology company that provides Western European companies with IT, BPO and consultancy services. The company is headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands but has also offices in Ukraine, Poland and Macedonia. This one is located in Lviv, Ukraine.

“The first floor of the office looks like a small copy of a Dutch village Zaanse Schans. It features windmills, bicycles and tulips which are considered to be traditional artefacts of the Dutch culture. There is also one thing which is really common for Dutch people but we came up with a rather unusual way of using it. It is a cow. What makes it a special cow is the fact that it is on the ceiling. It seems to be a crazy decision but it reflects one of our mottos: “We are not different in what we do, but in HOW we do it”. Of course, it’s not only the look that matters. Small houses around the office are actually used as meeting rooms. Each of them reflects some of the most significant aspects of the Dutch life and history. Thus, we have a meeting room dedicated to tulips, bicycles, Flying Dutchman, traditional Dutch shoe clogs and Van Gogh’s paintings. Of course, we couldn’t skip such important elements of the Netherlands as coffee shops and Red Light district. We have a separate meeting room for both. Besides work, we often have parties and celebrations in our office. That’s why we reserved some space for a stage for speakers and performers. Designed as a traditional Dutch living room it serves as a meeting spot, lounge zone or even a workplace for those who don’t feel like working at their desk. To create an actual feeling of presence in the Netherlands we designed our canteen as a real Dutch brown café and named it Old Amsterdam Café. It features pictures of old city of Amsterdam and musical instruments which are popular in the Netherlands. Interesting fact: all artefacts, like blue faience, clogs, even traditional furniture in our office are genuine. We bought everything at the traditional swap meet in Amsterdam since it is important for us to stay authentic and true to ourselves,” says Symphony Solutions
