Inside Metromile’s New Boston Office

Metromile, an insurance startup that invents smarter ways to manage risk, with products like pay-per-mile car insurance and an expedited claims process, recently hired interior design studio Becky Carter, to design their new offices in Boston, Massachusetts.

“In a marriage of New England’s rich, historic aesthetic and Silicon Valley’s innovative energy, Metromile’s 5500 square foot Boston office unites two cultural counterparts with vibrant and playful sophistication. After unearthing the brick walls and hardwood floors of the 19th century building, Studio Becky Carter introduced warmth and softness to the space with smart and thoughtful finishes and furniture. In keeping with the design of Metromile’s San Francisco headquarters, clever nods to car parts and the driving experience create an inspired and innovative office space. Glass walls patterned with window tint, a large custom art piece designed to mimic a model car kit, and a sweeping fabric landscape inspired by road trips divide and color the space while eclectic accessories sourced in Cambridge antique shops bring play and local charm”.
