A Tour of TQ’s Amsterdam Tech Hub

TQ (founded by The Next Web) is an Amsterdam-based curated tech space that aims to push startups towards exponential growth by providing them with the community, events, and facilities.

“The TQ interior design focuses on transparency first and foremost. The glass panes allows one to see right through the wings of the building, where individual startups have their own space but form a community together. The hallways are designed to be meeting places, as though you’d walk around the streets in a village. The building is a former bank, so you can still find vaults in some of the offices. We stripped the entire place before rebuilding and kept the concrete ceilings to show the infrastructure of all the wiring and air circulation pipes. This gives it an industrial feel, which, combined with a brightly lit interior design, imbues the space with its own trademark. The concept behind TQ was that it should be a home, not a hotel, and we’ve kept that in mind when we sourced the furniture by Lensvelt (Boring Collection), while all of the other items were sourced second hand,” says Studio Appelo
