A Look Inside AXA’s Cool New Singapore Office

AXA, a global insurance firm focused on global insurance and investment management, hired workplace design firm SCA Design to design their new office in Singapore.

“Creating premises befitting a leading general insurance provider entailed careful consideration for how the 78,000sq ft space would be utilised. The client required the incorporation of an Activity Based Working (ABW) concept and Mobility strategies, which would also include a new 2,540 sqft retail space and a customer service centre.

The overarching objective for the new offices was to cater towards future expansion, where the aim would be to adequately house more than 1,200 end-users by 2022. Bringing together staff from AXA’s general and life insurance businesses into a single location, the intention for the project was to drive colleague and client excellence, while continuing to attract top-level talent to the firm. To accomplish this SCA Design conceptualised a unique work environment that promoted innovation and collaboration, based on key design principles that would help optimise the company’s operations.

Working to deliver a platform that fully supported the needs of multiple end-users, the designers successfully maximised agility and flexibility. Featuring typical floorplans that leveraged on the entry points into the work areas, the new office includes a variety of effective spaces that can support different work styles – promoting more connectivity and transparency across the workplace,” says SCA Design.
