A Look Inside GoWork’s New Jakarta Office

Coworking space provider GoWork recently hired workplace design form Shape of Thoughts to design their new office in Jakarta, Indonesia.

“Coworking space has become more indispensable in today’s work setting with the increasing numbers of companies operating full-remote and numbers of professionals opting for freelance working mode. This creates the need to have a workplace that can support beyond functionality, but one that sparks creativity and speak personal identity. For our third commissioned project with GoWork, we try to solve this need in our own creative way.

GoWork Arkadia is situated in a mixed-use building where commercial and office functions merge. It targeted, like most coworking spaces, start-ups, small business workers, and freelancers who are mobile people with distinct work styles. A work style includes combining socializing with work, informal work meetings and regroups, and hybrid meetings. In addition, the GoWork Arkadia challenges us to create a space that keeps these modern executives feeling fresh and inspired at any time of day despite the lack of natural light that characterizes most high-rise buildings.

Our design is underlined with a bold yet warm tone to reflect the value of progress, innovation, and a comfortable work situation. To set the tone, the visitors are welcomed with a patterned marble flooring at the reception area and then blanketed with touches of blue and green for their work setup.

Since we believe in creativity, building a working environment that provides comfort, inspiration, and provoking thoughts through socializing is essential. It’s also necessary to foster the entrepreneurial culture of these modern executives by considering the floor plan with the user’s experience. It resulted in a more open space office to invite people to experience the value of creativity and different functional areas such as communal tables, individual working areas, semi-private, and of course, private areas.”
