A Tour of Financial Services Company Offices in London
Financial services company hired workplace design firm Peldon Rose to design their new office in London, England,
“A US-based financial services firm set out to establish a London presence in the heart of Mayfair. It’s vision: to craft an inspiring workplace centred around connectivity.
The Peldon Rose Enterprise team partnered with Savills Workplace & Design under the creative direction of Beau Becquart, Associate Director – Architect, to bring this vision to life. Together, the team shaped a three-floor workspace anchored by meaningful interaction and seamless movement, punctuated by a sculptural staircase, a welcoming social café, and breakout settings that unfold through fluid circulation routes. The result is a 22,000 sq ft office infused with warmth, connection, and a design language inspired by Mayfair’s rich architectural heritage.
Trust lay at the heart of the partnership. With client representatives based in the US, regular virtual collaboration became essential, bridging physical distance and ensuring absolute alignment throughout the design process. The team immersed itself in the client’s brand identity and culture, drawing from visual elements of its US offices while imbuing a strong local connection. Construction was delivered in carefully phased stages, completing two contiguous floors first before moving to the last, ensuring a smooth and efficient programme.
Aligned through a shared vision, the client entrusted the team to deliver the right elements for an enriched design. The result is a workplace permeated by transatlantic identity and a people-focused culture. Connectivity anchors the design. A sweeping new staircase links two floors, acting as both a functional link and a bold focal point.
Concealed LED lighting traces its form, while a mirrored ceiling overhead creates the illusion of an inverted ripple pool, creating a dramatic sense of height and evoking the core motif of fluidity. Circular windows allow sightlines to pass through the space, reinforcing transparency and openness. A lush biophilic living wall brings organic vibrancy to the feature. This visual centrepiece seamlessly brings the two floors together as one space, fostering fluid movement, impromptu connections, and a cohesive culture.
A prominent marble table spanning several metres sits in the boardroom to create a bold, sophisticated space, complemented by leather chairs and veneer finishes. The team managed the installation process which progressed seamlessly, a major achievement given the physical spatial constraints.
To echo the increased height of one of the client’s US offices the team removed suspended ceilings as part of the Cat A works, reconfiguring the ceiling voids to elevate the spatial experience. The team designed every space to support seamless connectivity, from open plan desking to the café and breakout areas. Every zone facilitates meaningful interaction, every circulation route an opportunity for serendipitous collaboration. Striking a balance between transparency and privacy, the layout supports a varied and dynamic workflow, the result of careful spatial planning throughout the design phase.
Open plan desking accommodates both focus and connectivity while acoustically private rooms and glazed partitions allow teams to provide exceptional services to clients with professional discretion. One floor is home to a versatile cafe offering everything from dining and relaxation to all-hands events. Another floor has conference suites and a refined business lounge, bringing a hospitality-driven polish to professional settings.”
