A Tour of AQA’s New Manchester Office

A Tour of AQA’s New Manchester Office

Educational company AQA hired workplace design firm Claremont to design their new office in Manchester, England.

“The goal was to modernise and optimise these structures, ensuring they could better serve the needs of AQA and its occupants, ultimately rejuvenating these key buildings in the heart of Manchester.

AQA’s new Head office in Manchester represents a harmonious blend of the company’s rich history and its forward-thinking approach to branding and design. Drawing inspiration from their original project in Milton Keynes, the Manchester office retains the essence of what has worked well in the past while infusing it with a fresh perspective.

One notable evolution in this new office design is a subtle yet impactful shift towards incorporating the vibrant AQA reds and purples into the overall aesthetic. This infusion of brand colours not only pays homage to the organisation’s identity but also enriches a sense of unity and cohesion among employees and visitors. The reds and purples, strategically integrated throughout the office, create a dynamic and visually stimulating environment that aligns with AQA’s innovative spirit.

In addition to aesthetics, this nod to the brand colours serves as a constant reminder of AQA’s values, mission, and commitment to excellence. It reinforces the company’s dedication to education and assessment by immersing everyone in an environment that encapsulates the essence of AQA’s identity.
The design approach, influenced by both the original Milton Keynes project and the brand’s colour palette, strikes a balance between tradition and progress. It speaks to AQA’s ability to honour its heritage while embracing a future characterized by innovation and continued growth. The Manchester office becomes not just a workplace but a living testament to AQA’s legacy and its exciting journey forward.

Bringing in earthy tones (Forest greens and burnt oranges) natural materials (Natural Davos oak), patterned carpet that replicates patterns seen in nature and biophilia to create a calming and productive environment, these elements have played a key role in the design from day one and will continue through into the new schemes going forward.”
